Welcome to the Savannah Lakes Village Tennis Program! Whether you are a veteran, intermediate, or new tennis player, there’s a special place for you here. With lighted clay and hard courts, weekly men’s and women’s tennis groups, league play, ball machine, tennis clinics and social activities, there is always a lot going on in our tennis community!
Tennis Teaching Professional
Dr. David Staniford conducts tennis clinics and private/semi-private lessons by appointment. David is a former world class player from Australia and has played and coached tennis for forty years. He is a former university professor, author of several books including “Natural Tennis”, and college “Coach of the Year.” David also resides in Savannah Lakes Village and is committed to growing the game within our community.
Game Improvement Programs
Tennis Clinics:
Conducted periodically throughout the year with David Staniford. Tennis clinics are great for all levels of ability from beginners to advanced players.
Private, Semi-Private, and Group Lessons:
Players can fine tune their tennis performance with “Natural Tennis” instruction from David. Private and small group expert instruction available by appointment.
Weekly Tennis Events:
Men’s, Competitive Doubles, Women’s, Ladies 3.5, Mixed Doubles and Co-ed for Fun Sanctioned Groups are scheduled every day of the week.

Other Events:
- MONTHLY TENNIS MIXERS: Mixers are held on the last Saturday morning of every month (March - November). The host couple(s) supply a main dish and everyone brings a dish to share. The morning begins with a mixed doubles format and is followed by a great lunch. Traveling trophies are presented to the winners.
- PRO-INVITATIONAL NIGHT: Join our tennis professional on Tuesday nights for competitive doubles for our advanced players, followed by food and social afterwards. By invitation.
- USTA LEAGUE PLAY: League play provides competition with surrounding communities in adult, senior, and super senior divisions. Winning play leads to regional, state, and national tournaments.
- U.S. OPEN TENNIS SOCIAL: Tennis enthusiasts gather at the Tara Clubhouse in September to watch the U.S. Open
- WINTER TENNIS DINNER PARTY: This is a wonderful dinner social held at the Tara Clubhouse each year.
- MEMBER-GUEST TENNIS TOURNAMENT: Get your partner ready for doubles in the spring.
