Senior Stretch and Tone Class

Instructor: Linda McClintock – Friday – 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

The class is designed specifically for those individuals who are not able to get down on their hands and knees for floor work or for those who cannot do the land aerobic exercises. All of the exercises we do in this class can be performed seated or standing. Those that come to Senior Stretch and Tone do only as much as they are comfortable doing. We begin each class with stretching and basic toning exercises targeting the entire body. We have incorporated light weights (1 to 5 pounds) for the upper body in this workout and spend about 20 to 25 minutes doing various seated (or standing) exercises with these weights. We also have a short aerobic segment, which increases the heart and adds a bit of fun and variety to the class. Balls and bands are also used for some of the exercises. We play music and have a good time while getting some exercise. Those who have not exercised before or in a long time along with those who are just getting back to exercise after an injury or surgeries are encouraged to come give it a try.
