Yoga

Instructor: Linda McClintock - Tuesday and Friday – 10:15 – 11:30 am

This Yoga Class will give you a nice all round workout. There are many benefits derived from yoga besides “exercise”. It helps to improve posture making us stand straighter and appear taller even alleviating some back ailments. It improves flexibility, range of motion and balance making it easier to perform those everyday chores. We do stretching exercises in the beginning for flexibility. A few balance poses are performed each session. Balance is one of those things that we tend to lose as we age and this can be reversed or prevented if we work at it. We do several poses that increase our strength and tone our upper and lower body muscles. Abdominal and core muscle poses are also focused on in each class. Everyone works at his or her own pace in yoga. We learn to breath and listen to our body, only moving to that gentle stretching sensation and holding the pose there. Nothing should ever hurt. It is a very relaxing class performed in a dimly lit room with gentle music. At the end of each class there is a period of “Savasana” for total relaxation. You will go home feeling rejuvenated and relaxed after getting a good overall workout.
